Lesson 1

Rudiments - Rudiments are like the alphabet for drummers. If you know the alphabet you can spell words, if you can spell words you can create sentences, and so on. The Rudiments below should be played slowly at first. Once you have memorized it you can then speed it up. Keeping them even is the most important thing

Lesson 3

The Fill - The fill is generally played when changing from one section of a song to another.
i.e. Going from the verse to the chorus.

The Shuffle - The Shuffle is the most common drumbeat for the Blues.

Lesson 5

Basic Jazz - The drumbeat for Jazz is called Swing. The most basic Swing pattern does not have any Bass or Snare drums. Instead we use the Ride cymbal and Hi-hats.
